I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph the Excel Publishing hosted Builder and Engineer awards 2011 a few weeks ago (I told you I had a busy schedule!) , which whilst I have done event photography before, was a little further from my wedding, portrait and urban photographic comfort zone than usual! The venue was fantastic, being at the Old Trafford cricket ground’s ‘The Point’ – it was a good talking point, as well as being tailor made for this sort of event – great acoustics, great lighting and a fantastic setup which Excel made the best possible use of. There was great food, a fantastic band, and lots of post-award games to keep everyone entertained, including massive jenga, a scalextric track that would have been the envy of every child in Britain – and lots more fun and games to see people into the early hours.
A big thank you to Joe and Amber who not only put on a great event, but were also top people to work with.
I’ve chosen a few pics from the evening to show you, enjoy.
