A while back, I did some wedding photography which unfortunately had to be cut short due to the riots in Manchester (those of you visiting from facebook may remember a lengthy debate about it on my wall – and thank-you to everyone on facebook for their kind words of sympathy for the bride and groom!). Well – I’m happy to say that all’s well that ends well – and as their special day was cut short (you can read about the original shoot here: http://www.justint.co.uk/2011/08/ashley-and-yun-a-manchester-wedding/) through no fault of the bride and groom, I offered to re-shoot the evening do should they ever re-organise their party. A few weeks after the original wedding day I got a call from Ashley saying they had re-book the wonderful Yang Sing restaurant – and if the offer was still open, they would love me to come down and take some evening wedding portraits as well as capturing some of the party inside.
Unfortunately Helen was unavailable to come with me due to a family engagement, so my friend (and most excellent photographer, check his stuff out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32465771@N08/) Mr Paul Mills stepped into Helen’s shoes and assisted me with lighting, and to get some extra shots of the evening too. I have to say Paul was excellent on the night, made the couple feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the lens, and got some great shots in the process – a definite potential wedding photographer for the future – cheers Paul!
A few shots from the evening below; as the bride and groom were so happy with the first set of photographs, I allowed myself a little leeway with regard to some more artistic and expressive processing for the outside evening wedding photos. I hope you enjoy them anyhow:
